Aubameyang not travelling with the team to Berlin

Oh an Aubameyang story for a change...

Well this didn’t take long to go from “He could play” to “Isn’t travelling with the team because his head isn’t in the game”.

In the next baffling chapter of the neverending Aubameyang-saga, the striker has not traveled with the team to Berlin for their Bundesliga game on Friday against Hertha. The news was first reported by Sport Bild and has since been confirmed by the club.

Just mere hours before this turn of events, Peter Stöger talked about how well Aubameyang trained this week and that he could start tomorrow. However it looks like the star striker might never wear black and yellow again.

The official statement from Michael Zorc reads: “Aubameyang trains in Dortmund. We currently have the impression that he has other things going through his head and isn’t fully focused. Therefore it is questionable that he could help us in Berlin”.

That is quite the turnaround in just a few hours and indicates that there might be something bigger going on. Either Auba just refused to play and they’re trying to cover it up or his transfer to Arsenal London is close.

At this point it’s hard to see how he can stay in Dortmund and a transfer could be the best for everybody. Since Dortmund will probably want to present a replacement as soon as possible it could still be a while before we hear anything official though.

So be ready for even more Auba-stories and rumors in the coming days.
