Borussia Dortmund midfielder Shinji Kagawa was given his first start of the new season Wednesday against Hamburger SV, and immediately made the most of it.

The Japanese international netted his first goal of the Bundesliga season for Dortmund, blasting home a poor clearance from inside the six-yard box.

For the second game in a row, Hamburger SV has conceded after failing to adequately clear a set piece from inside the six-yard box.

The cross from Andriy Yarmolenko was aimed at Omer Toprak pressing deep. The ball came straight down and settled on the foot of Shinji Kagawa who simply turned and fired the goal passed Hamburg keeper Christian Mathenia.

Dortmund currently boast Europe’s best domestic goals against mark as they have yet to concede in Bundesliga play this year. A win today lifts Dortmund back to the top of the table as Bayern Munich currently occupy that spot after a win yesterday.
