- Ousmane Dembélé
Welp, it was nice to have him for one season I guess.
Since Neymar’s departure from Barcelona for a record fee of 222€ million the rumors surrounding Dembélé as his possible heir have been picking up steam and now we are seemingly as close as ever to a transfer.
Several media outlets have reported that several members of Barcelona’s front office are in Dortmund to negotiate with Dortmund. There is no agreement yet but it seems that a deal is close.
Dortmund will look to get as much money from Barca as possible. The reports on the fee that Dortmund will ask are varying with some sources like kicker saying it would be around 120€ million while Spanish outlets are reporting a fee closer to 150€ million. No matter how much it will end up being, it looks like 20-year-old Ousmane Dembélé will become the second most expensive transfer ever behind only Neymar.
This is a pretty big mess right now with new reports coming out every couple hours and with yet another “insider” claiming the transfer will be done “in the next few hours”. At this point we will have to wait for an official comment from Dortmund themselves to be sure.
Meanwhile on social media there’s enough going on to fill an entire soap opera. First of all Ous himself took “Borussia Dortmund” out of his twitter and Instagram bio’s.

In addition one of his close friends posting a message saying “Se firma”(he’s signing), a rib on Piqué’s “Se queda” (he’s staying) message a few weeks ago. However not everything on social media is true (shocker), a supposed goodbye-message from Alexander Isak surfaced on the internet but was later refuted by Isak himself saying it was fake.
This will probably drag on for a few days. we will do our best to keep you updated as this story progresses.
Daily Buzz: 120? 150? Is it a good idea to let Dembélé go this close to the season? What’s the number that would sway you to sell him and most importantly what should Dortmund do with the money?
Who are the possible replacements? Gelson Martins, Inaki Williams or Riyad Mahrez?
