Coach Peter Bosz had a few interesting things to say a couple days before the Supercup against Bayern Munich. During the pre-game press conference he talked about Mario Götze, the new players, the Dembélé-speculation and of course the game against the Bavarians. So let’s take a look at what our new coach had to say.

Bosz wants his first title with BVB

Listening to Bosz someone might get the feeling that the season really starts on Saturday. Talking about the game against Bayern and the Supercup in general Bosz showed a desire to win his first trophy with Borussia Dortmund, especially at home, “I’m looking forward to my first match at the Signal Iduna Park. Big matches are always interesting. We want to win it.”.

The pre-season was a bit of a mixed bag so far for BVB (and FCB for that matter) but Bosz is confident the results will get better once the season starts. He stated: “Of course it’s just the pre-season. Not all players are at 100% just yet....But I believe we’re on the right track.”, he continued “Pre-season are there to give every player playing time. Tomorrow’s game is about a trophy, is different.”

He even concluded questions about Bayern and Dortmund’s pre-season results with a Klopp-esque comment when he said “Well I don’t think it will be Bayern and us who will get relegated.”

So to sum it up we can probably expect the best possible line-up on Saturday and a coach who definitely wants to win his first trophy at home and leave a good impression. He will have to do that without André Schürrle, Emre Mor and Erik Durm who join Marco Reus, Marcel Schmelzer, Raphael Guerreiro and Julian Weigl on the injury list.

What will happen with Ousmane Dembélé?

Obviously Bosz was asked about Dembélé and the increasing amount of reports linking the 20-year-old winger to Barcelona after the Spanish giants just lost Neymar to Paris St. Germain for 222€ million.

Dembélé who has stated his desire for a future move to Spain in the past seems a bit rough around the edges to immediately replace Neymar but according to Spanish reports they are willing to offer BVB a huge amount for Ous.

When asked about the rumors Bosz said that he’s “not worried about Dembélé going to Barcelona” saying that it “is no issue at the moment”. We all know how quickly that can change but in this particular case Dortmund hold all the cards in their hand.

BVB confirm new Opel-deal

German car-manufacturer Opel has been a close partner of Borussia Dortmund for years and now they have extended their partnership with each other until 2022.

Opel will continue to provide the entire car pool for Dortmund and in addition their logo will now be featured on the sleeve of Dortmund’s jerseys starting with this season. It will be the first time that Bundesliga teams will be allowed to have a sponsor of their own on the sleeves.

According to Ruhr Nachrichten the total volume of the deal will bring Dortmund close to 50€ million over the next five years with an option to extend it for two more years. A lucrative deal for Dortmund that will hopefully help to narrow the gap between Dortmund and other European top-clubs.
