BVB won 2-0 at home this Saturday as they took on Hertha Berlin. It was out first home game of the season and we played like it as we dominated the game easily. Our goals were from Aubameyang and Nuri Sahin.
The first half was all BVB. We dominated possession and had the lions share of possession. Pulisic played especially well in the first half, and even thought he did not have a goal he dominated Hertha. Sahin again proved he can fill our hole in the midfield as he distributed the ball with the skill of Weigl. Sahin also created Aubameyangs goal as he lofted it perfectly to our star striker. Aubameyang was in the perfect spot as usual making it an easy tap in. There were no more goals in the first half even thought we had our fair chances. Hertha only had one chance off a set piece which was saved easily by Burki.
The second half was continued BVB dominance. We gave Hertha almost no chances as Burki stopped anything that came even close to him. Toprak did his part as well and showed that he is ready to play for a major team like BVB. This half was all Pulisic. While he did not score one goal he had shot after shot, easily beating anyone on Hertha but the goalkeeper. This kid is insanely special. I know we talk about his skill a lot here but this may have been his best performance yet. Sahin also continued his dominance as he scored an insane goal from outside he box. It was an laser beam that put us 2-0 up. Burki closed out the game for Hertha as he saved any chance that came his way to the point that Hertha gave up and took their attackers off the field.
Overall my takeaway from this game is that this team is looking amazing.
- Pulisic is taking the mantle of a star.
- Aubameyang is having fun playing and wants goals, goals, and more goals.
- Nuri looks like he can give us the Weigl sub we need.
- Toprak looks like he can be the CB sub we need.
- Phillip may be a good depth option as time goes on.
- Bosz has this team playing his brand of football already.
What did you think about the match.
