Official: Ousmane Dembele transfers to FC Barcelona

After months of speculation one of the most hyped players in the world is now actually leaving Dortmund.

BVB announced today that Ousmane Dembele will transfer to FC Barcelona. After Barca lost their own star, Neymar, for €220 million the transfer fee was not too hard for them to handle. The fee was reportedly worth €105 million, the second highest transfer fee ever paid. Dembele will effectively be asked to replace Neymar, the only player to bring in a bigger transfer fee.

Ousmane Dembele has the potential to be the best player in the world and although the transfer fee is high it may just not be worth it for Dortmund. With the season already underway, BVB will have to scramble to find replacements, and teams will be able to take full advantage when we come knocking. It’s safe to say this season’s title hopes are now in jeopardy before things have even kicked off.
