But will Hoffenheim agree to a deal?

In recent days rumors suggesting BVB were interested in Jeremy Toljan had surfaced and now reports suggest a transfer is closer than we thought.

According to Matthias Henrichs, Borussia Dortmund and Jeremy Toljan have agreed personal terms and are currently negotiating to finalize the deal. In the process Toljan had apparently financially better offers from Juventus and Tottenham but has chosen Dortmund instead.

The 23-year old fullback who can play on both sides of the pitch has a contract until 2018 and has so far refused to sign a new deal. This summer would be Hoffenheim’s last chance to cash in on one of their biggest talents.

Dortmund definitely need an upgrade at the fullback position. Raphael Guerreiro will miss a couple more months with an injury, Marcel Schmelzer is only now coming back from an injury himself and Lukasz Piszczek has clearly lost a step. Toljan would be able to back up the left back position and compete with Piszczek for the starting position at right back.

We will keep you updated as this story progresses, in the meantime do you think Toljan would be the right player to strengthen the fullback position?
