Borussia Dortmund vs Espanyol Barcelona: Preview and Match Thread

A closer look at a possible lineup for the season?

Borussia Dortmund will play against Espanyol Barcelona in their fifth pre-season friendly on Friday.

Espanyol finished 8th last season in the Primera Division and just missed one of the qualification places for the Europa League. They are a solid side with some very good players like left back Aaron Caricol, striker Gerard Moreno or newly acquired left winger Pablo Piatti (from Valencia).

The squad of Quique Flores will be a tough opponent and probably a good test for Peter Bosz’s team. Since most of Dortmund’s expected starters got a bit of a rest in our last friendly against VfL Bochum we should probably expect to see a team that is a bit closer to the one BVB will field once the Bundesliga resumes. In addition, we will likely see Mahmoud Dahoud and Maximilian Philipp get their first minutes in black and yellow.

How to Watch:

For all the German, Swiss and Austrian viewers out there, the game will be on TV (Eurosport) or on BVBs social media channels.

Lineups:

Also according to RN: Those not listed in the squad will be playing on Tuesday against Atalanta Bergamo.
