  • Merino on his way to Newcastle

Yesterday we reported about Dortmund heading to Switzerland without Mikel Merino because of negotiations with another club.

Today we know which club it is, Newcastle United! According to various reports (here one from Sky) Merino is in England to undergo a medical, finalize the deal and move to the Premier League. However the exact circumstances of the deal are still unknown because most reports contradict each other. Some say it’s a loan move without option to buy, others say it’s a loan move with an option (or even obligation) to buy and some even suggest Newcastle straight out bought the young midfielder.

While we don’t know if he’ll ever be back in black and yellow what we do know is that he won’t be this season. So good luck in Newcastle Mikel Merino and hopefully we’ll see you again at some point.

  • Hannover interested in Emre Mor

The other candidate for a move this summer is Emre Mor. Dortmund are apparently willing to let the young winger leave on a loan move and Hannover 96 are interested to bring him in according to BILD.

Hannover’s coach André Breitenreiter had the following to say: “He’s an phenomenal kid and an outstanding player. I generally don’t comment on speculations. But if a player from Borussia Dortmund has such immense quality that’s always interesting.” he continued, “The question is if it is doable for us and if the player wants to do it. For players like him there are other options.”

Personally I would say a move to Hannover might be a very good option for Mor. He would stay in the Bundesliga and move to a good club where he has chances to break into the starting eleven.

  • Jadon Sancho visited Dortmund

A few days ago I had a rumor of The Mirror(I know, I know) in the Daily Bee about Jadon Sancho possibly coming to Dortmund. Because of the source of the story I always thought it was a bit questionable but hey it’s fun to speculate, right?

Turns out, The Mirror might have been right for the first time ever when it comes to BVB-news. Today, Ruhr Nachrichten claim that the interest from Dortmund is in fact real and Sancho visited the Dortmund facilities in late June. So now we’ve gone from one of the least trustworthy sources to the most reliable BVB-outlet out there which is an indication that the deal actually might happen.

The reason why BVB might actually get one of the most sought after young talents in the world is the fact that Premier League clubs (and Man City in particular) aren’t quite known for developing young talent, Dortmund on the other hand is probably the best address in the world if you’re a teenager and know what to do with a soccer ball.

This does not mean the deal will happen but Sancho seems at least intrigued by the thought of playing for Dortmund and BVB would absolutely take yet another world class talent.

Daily Buzz: The USMNT won the Gold Cup. Congrats to them! Did you watch it and what did you think of the competition?
