After Zorc said our transfer season was over earlier this week things seemed all set for the new season to begin.
But now BILD has upset that calm with a bombshell report that Auba will be leaving the team in January for China. Aubameyang was connected with a move to China all summer, but as the Chinese transfer window ended a deal was never made.
There is no report on a transfer fee, or a specific club, but with the huge fees that China offers up for European stars it will probably be quite hefty. Add that on top of January transfers being larger, and BVB could stand to make a lot.
Unfortunately BVB doesn’t need this money, they need their star player to compete in the league. Letting Aubameyang go in January would probably be the single worst deal BVB has ever made. This is sure to heat up in the coming months as the season starts and people begin to question BVB management and Aubameyang himself.
Lets hope that BILD is just blowing smoke because they know Zorc ended our window early.
UPDATE: Dortmund are denying this story via ESPNFC’s Stefan Buczko.
.@bvb just rubbished the rumour that @Aubameyang7 would join a Chinese club in January. They say they are not in contact with any club.— Stefan Buczko (@StefanBuczko) July 21, 2017
