  • ConFed Cup

Germany vs Chile (part 2) will be the final of this year's Confederations Cup in Russia. The two teams that were in the same group together and drew 1:1, reached the final and will play each other a second time.

Chile needed a penalty shoot out to get past Portugal in their 3:0 (2:2 after 120min) win. Germany had it a bit easier when they easily dismantled Mexico 4:1. The final between the two teams should be a close game that could go either way.

It should be a bit worrying for other nations that a German B (maybe even C)-team is able to compete and even dominate other teams that play with their best squads. It just shows Germany's incredible depth which makes the reigning World Cup champ a favorite to defend their title.

  • U21 Euros

While we will have to wait for the ConFed Cup final until Sunday, the final of the European Championship is today.

Germany will take on Spain to see who has the better youth team, although Germany is handicapped by the fact that some of their players are either injured or are on the ConFed Cup roster.

Spain will be the favorite but Germany still has some very good players who could lead their team to an upset victory. Maybe Mahmoud Dahoud and Maximilian Philipp can win their first big title before joining Borussia Dortmund.

Congrats to Mario Götze! The midfielder got engaged to his girlfriend Ann-Kathrin Brömmel.
