  • U21 Euros

Today are the semifinals of the U21 Euros with some very interesting match-ups. England will play Germany where Mahmoud Dahoud and Maximilian Philipp will try to help Germany reach the final. England will prove to be a real test for a German team that isn't at full strength considering the players missing with injuries (Weigl, Tah, Sané, etc.) and the players on the ConFed Cup squad (Werner, Ginter, Süle, Goretzka, Henrichs, Kimmich and Brandt). It is incredible to think that Germany could still win this tournament with all those players missing, it speaks for the spectacular youth development in Germany in recent years.

In the second semifinal Spain will take on Italy in a game of the two highest touted teams coming into the tournament. Both squads feature incredible players like Saul Niguez, Marco Asensio, Hector Bellerin, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Federico Bernadeschi and Domenico Berardi, just to name a few. It will be an intriguing match-up of two of the most talented U21 squads in the world.

  • Seriously?

Now here's a weird one, French outlet le 10 sport have linked Ousmane Dembélé to Manchester City, even claiming that Ous was in Manchester to visit their facilities and have diner with Pep Guardiola.

To show you the extent of exactly how silly the transfer season can get, here are a few problems with this rumor:

1. The only reliable source we have on this is Michael Zorc saying a few days ago that Dembélé won't go anywhere

2. City showing Dembélé the facilities and Pep having dinner with him would be a pretty serious affront against FIFA rules, considering that they can't legally contact Ous without BVB's consent since he still has a contract until 2021. By the way Liverpool in under investigation by the FA because they had a similar incident this summer with a possible transfer of Southampton's Virgil van Dijk. A transfer ban is one of the possible punishments which I doubt City would risk.

3. Oh yeah and then there's this:

  • Guerreiro won't play against Chile

Raphael Guerreiro probably won't play against Chile on Wednesday in the semifinal of the ConFed Cup. Guerreiro missed Portugal's last training session before the game early Tuesday morning. The 23-year-old left back suffered a bruised foot in Portugal's 1:0 victory against Russia which looked way worse initially when he had to be subbed off. It would probably be a good idea to leave him out of the tournament the rest of the way to keep him healthy for the start of the season.
