The very nature of the offseason was on full display the past couple days. Yesterday (or even this morning) it looked like Raphael Guerreiro would miss a significant amount of time and Ousmane Dembélé might move to Barcelona this offseason. Well you can all take a deep breath and relax a bit...for now.

First we got some good news about Guerreiro's injury. He did not in fact fracture his ankle but "only" suffered a painful bruise to his foot which means he might not be able to compete in the ConFed Cup anymore (even though that isn't clear at this point) but he will probably be ready for the start of the new season.

However there was still some confusion about an Instagram-post from Guerreiro himself. In said post he stated that he does have a fracture but that it is 3 months old. Now the question remains why he's actually playing a meaningless tournament if he already has a fractured foot but since probably both medical staffs from Dortmund and Portugal allowed him to play we can assume that it is a minor medical issue.

Even better news came just in regarding Ousmane Dembélé. German outlet WAZ report that the youngster will stay in Dortmund this summer. Michael Zorc, who probably wanted to put an end to the rumors, is quoted by the outlet "Ousmane Dembélé has a long running contract, we are planning with him.", he continued "There are no negotiations. Ous will play for BVB in the coming season!".

That should put an end to the rumors for now. There is still a possibility that any club could contact Dembélé directly but since that would be illegal Dortmund could report said club just as Southampton did with Liverpool in the Virgil van Dijk sweepstakes.

We'll surely get some new rumors in the coming days, it wouldn't be the silly season without them.
