Summer has officially begun. With the World Cup coming next year in Russia, that means this Summer hosts the much less prestigious Confederations Cup tournament.
Much of the world would rather be on the beach right now rather than watching a glorified friendly tournament, but it’s still happening! And Dortmund players are playing!
Today, Raphaël Guerreiro played a key part in Portugal’s 1-0 win over Russia. Check out his beautiful assist on the game’s only goal.

Ronaldo will get all the attention for scoring, but Raph put that ball right on a platter for him. The best player in the world barely even had to move to finish the header.
The precision on the pass is something we’ve come to expect from Guerreiro during his time at Dortmund. His vision and technical ability are two reasons why he’s also been able to thrive when playing in central midfield. He’s almost too good to be a left back.
It will be interesting to see what Peter Bosz does with Guerreiro this season. Such a versatile and talented player is sure to continue to see heavy action in multiple positions for the black-and-yellows.
Edit: Welp. Guerreiro’s game ended when he had to be subbed off with an ankle injury. Apparently it could be a fracture.
