The Daily Bee (June 16th, 2017): Auba staying put...for now

  • Will Auba stay?

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was as good as gone and now it looks increasingly likely that he'll stay.

PSG is reportedly completely out of the running for Auba after the sporting director changed from Patrick Kluivert to Antero Henrique. Henrique apparently doesn't rate Aubameyang as highly as Kluivert did. In addition PSG isn't ready to pay upwards of 70€ million for him.

The second option for the Gabon international seemed to be AC Milan but they have just bought Andre Silva from FC Porto for a reported fee of 38€ million so they are probably not in the market for another striker.

Last but not least there was the ridiculous offer from China with an insane wage-offer of reportedly 50€ million per year. However that offer seems to be off the table now after the Chinese Super League imposed a few new rules. First of all the League plans to impose a wage-cap for Chinese teams which would inhibit such enormous wages in the future. In addition they imposed a 100% tax on international player acquisitions which means that any team that buys an international player would have to pay the exact same amount to the foreign club AND into a fund for the Chinese football association which will be used for youth academies. As an example that would mean if they bought Auba for ~70€ million they would have to pay 70€ million in taxes so a total of 140€ million. As crazy as the Chinese market is right now not even they would pay that amount of money.

  • Passlack on loan to Hertha?

Hertha BSC Berlin are still looking to upgrade their team this summer for the upcoming season where they will play in three competitions (they qualified for the Europa League). According to kicker Hertha is interested in bringing in Felix Passlack on loan. The 19-year-old BVB player will need to get playing time in order to develop and it's unclear if he'll be able to get on the pitch regularly at Dortmund. A loan move might be a good idea for Passlack. However reports suggest new coach Peter Bosz wants to see him for a couple weeks in training camp before making a final decision on him. BVB will not allow any sort of release clause with the loan deal which indicates that they plan with him in the future.

  • BVB vs Espanyol Barcelona

One last friendly remained to be determined for Borussia Dortmund this pre-season. During Dortmund's training camp in Switzerland they will play Espanyol Barcelona on July 28th. Espanyol finished last season in 8th place in the Primera Division.

Daily Buzz: So not a single important BVB-player will leave this summer (as of right now) and with the additions of Toprak, Zagadou, Dahoud and Philipp will this be the year we challenge Bayern?
