Whenever there’s a trophy, there’s a parade. A day after winning the DFB Pokal in Berlin, Borussia Dortmund have returned home to celebrate with the people of Dortmund. More than 250,000 people have lined the streets to watch the team carry the cup through the city. It’s a glorious sight to see, and something tells me it could use some Aida:

For those who can’t go to the parade live, the club is broadcasting live coverage of the event here. Nobby Dickel is giving interviews to the players, who all seem ecstatic, if not a bit hungover, which is perfectly understandable.
The mood in general is fantastic. The crowd has broken into song multiple times, singing “You’ll never walk alone,” as I type. It’s great that there’s finally a feeling of optimism at the club, even amongst all the Aubameyang transfer rumors, and Marco Reus’ ACL injury. Several players have expressed their desire to have an even better season next year. Now that the club has won its first hardware, it could be ready for bigger trophies, and even bigger parades.
