Matthias Ginter has been rumored to leave Dortmund in the summer ever since it became clear that Ömer Toprak would arrive in the summer. Now BILD claim that the versatile defender has already agreed to a deal with TSG Hoffenheim.
The 23-year-old has played plenty this season, amassing 40 appearances across all competitions which would indicate that he's a regular for the black and yellows, however Ginter benefited from Dortmund's various injury problems on defense.
With Sokratis, Marc Bartra, Sven Bender and Ömer Toprak all likely being ahead of him on the depth chart, an move in the summer seems likely for the German international. According to BILD Hoffenheim want Ginter as a replacement for the departing Niklas Süle who will join Bayern Munich this summer and are prepared to offer 15-20€ million for the defender.
At this point a move seems likely for Ginter. His performances were mostly disappointing this season and he has arguably gotten worse since he arrived in Dortmund in 2014. Once pegged as one of Germany's brightest young talents he'll probably remain one of the very rare BVB-transfers that didn't pan out.
