- Bundesliga results
Borussia Dortmund won 3-0 against Hamburg, you can read all about it here. Meanwhile there were a few more games, let's take a look at the results:
TSG Hoffenheim 1-0 Bayern München
Werder Bremen 3-0 FC Schalke 04
1.FC Köln 1-0 Eintracht Frankfurt
So we needed Bayern to win just this once.....they lost. Ancelotti rotated heavily ahead of Der Klassiker and the Champions League clash against Real Madrid and it cost them. Now Hoffenheim can celebrate three unexpected points and stay ahead of BVB for now.
Bremen continues to impress, they have now an unbeaten streak of seven consecutive games and are currently in 8th place in the table. If they can continue like this they won't have to battle relegation but they will rather compete for the international places.
Köln won and to the surprise of everyone it wasn't Anthony Modeste who scored the goal of the day. Köln jumped ahead of Frankfurt in the table and are now in a good position to qualify for the Europa League for next season.
- Some statistics
Borussia Dortmund are unbeaten at home in over two years(!) now, Thomas Tuchel has never lost a Bundesliga home game with Borussia Dortmund. Since neither Lewandowski (24 goals) nor Modeste (22) scored, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is now the sole leader for the Torjägerkanone, however it remains a tight race. Yesterday's game was the 100th BVB vs HSV-duel and it is actually the Bundesliga duel with the most goals (358).
Daily Buzz: Let's talk about the Bundesliga in general. Bremen battled relegation not to long ago, now they are in the hunt for a Europa League spot. The top 4 are probably decided (FCB, RBL, TSG, BVB), as well as the bottom two (D98, FCI) but who is going to qualify for the EL and who has to play the relegation game?
