- Stenzel scores winner for Freiburg
BVB-loanee Pascal Stenzel scored the 2-1 winner in Freiburg's game against Bayer Leverkusen. The win moves Freiburg into sixth place which would qualify them for the Europa League while Leverkusen stay in twelfth place and still in the battle to avoid relegation. It is an incredible drop for a team that was pegged as a possible title contender before the season.
After the game Christian Streich commented on Stenzel's situation, technically the loan for the young right back ends this summer but the Breisgauer are keen on keeping him with their coach saying: "He's a very versatile player that we'd like to keep. Hopefully Dortmund will meet us halfway."
- BVB moves into third place and closer to RB Leipzig
The win against Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hoffenheim's draw against Köln means that BVB moved up to third place. It will be important to keep that third place to qualify for next year's Champions League, the fourth placed team will have to play in a qualification round first.
There might also be a chance to finish second. Borussia Dortmund will have to win out and hope for RBL slip-ups but it's still possible considering that the black and yellows have three home games remaining and Leipzig still have a game against Bayern on their schedule.
- Sahin to miss rest of the season?
There is still no official confirmation on Nuri Sahin's injury but it is assumed that he suffered a torn ligament in his ankle during the game against Gladbach. If that is confirmed then the 28-year-old would miss the rest of the season.
Daily Bee: What do you guys think, is a second-place finish still possible?
