This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone, as this transfer has been heavily rumored and reported. In the past few weeks we’ve heard that “it’s close” from a few different sources in a few different ways, but now we can finally put the OFFICIAL tag on the deal.
Dahoud represents another talented youngster going to Dortmund to play for Thomas Tuchel. “Mo”, as he’s often known, is 21-years-old and was born in Syria. His family fled to Germany when he was an infant, and he now represents Deutschland at the U21 level.
This season has been one of mixed results for Dahoud and Monchengladbach. In 17 Bundesliga appearances this season, he has 1 goal and 4 assists. He’s mostly played for Gladbach in central midfield.
Could Dahoud be the Gundogan replacement Dortmund are still looking for? Only time will tell.
