The Daily Bee (March 28th, 2017): Subotic to stay in Köln?

  • Neven Subotic - Kölsche Jung'?

Subotic is currently on loan in Cologne competing for an international spot with 1.FC Köln. The center back that battled injuries for the past three seasons with Dortmund seems to have found his place in Kölns defense. Now Kölns sporting director Jörg Schmadtke has revealed that they would be interested in keeping him in the Domstadt for longer, saying that they will have talks with Borussia Dortmund in April about a possible transfer. The 28-year-old has played six games so far for Köln, with mixed performances. At this point it is difficult to see where he would fit into a BVB-squad with Sokratis and Marc Bartra playing as well as they have recently, Sven Bender on his way back and Ömer Toprak already signed for next season.

  • Auba does it again

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has glow-in-the-dark-hair now. I'm serious!

I actually have no idea what to say about that...

Daily Buzz: Let's talk a bit about our CB-depth for next season. Sokratis, Bartra and Bender will obviously stay and Toprak will join the black and yellows. Piszczek has kinda been converted to a center back and he's probably staying for a bit more and Patrick Fritsch might get a chance soon in the first team.

A lot will depend on the tactics for next season, if Tuchel continues to use the three-man backline we might need Subotic for depth. However if he plans to play with two center backs Subotic will probably be expendable and sadly his time in Dortmund will come to an end because he's not really upgrade over any of the other players. What do you think, take him back or let him go to a team where he has the chance to be a starter?
