Finally some BVB things happening this international break as Lukasz Piszczsek is set to sign a new contract according to Kicker. Piszczek’s current contract runs through the 2018 season and if the Kicker report is to be believed he will extend for another year to 2019. Piz was acquired by BVB in 2010 from Hertha and has been a black and yellow ever since. He was a major part of both our winning seasons as well as our UCl Finals run in 2013. Piz has been a loyal and constant presence on our squad for years and it’s nice to see the club put trust in him as he ages. With guys like Passlack, Durm and Raph on the squad now we have a dearth of talent in the fullback position. Piz still finds plenty of time with the squad however, and with the usual BVB injury problems it’s good we lock him down for a few more years. Since he will be 34 when his next contract runs out that may very well be the last contract he signs with the club. Lets hope this rumor turns out to be the real deal!
