  • Ginter to Liverpool?

It has not exactly been a great season for Matthias Ginter. What was supposed to be his make-or-break season in Dortmund has possibly been his worst yet. Even though the young defender got more minutes than in his previous years, which was mostly due to injuries to other players, he has not quite "made" it. The 23-year-old has been inconsistent and average at best playing as a centerback. With Sokratis and Bartra playing as well as they have in recent weeks and Sven Bender coming back from his injury it is likely that he'll drop to fourth on the depth chart. Ömer Toprak will arrive in the summer and Patrick Fritsch is an exciting youth prospect that will probably compete for minutes in the coming years. All of a sudden the future does not look so bright for the former Freiburg-prodigy.

In come the Scousers. It seems likely that Ginter will have to look for a new club this summer and Liverpool with his former coach Jürgen Klopp might be interested. According to reports Liverpool would be interested to acquire the centerback that has failed to live up to expectations in Dortmund.

Once Dortmund will boast a CB collection of Sokratis, Bender, Bartra and Toprak, Ginter will become expendable. Dortmund will look to recoup their investment of 10€ million they paid in 2014.

  • Germany vs England

Today Germany will take on England in the Signal-Iduna-Park in Dortmund today to play an international friendly. It is undoubtedly one of the most historic duels in the football world and a rivalry that has produced unforgettable moments like the Wembley-goal which both sides still argue about.

Lukas Podolski will also make his last appearance for the German national team. The World Cup winner will play his 130th game for Germany and end his international career.
