- Tuchel to Arsenal?
BILD made a lot of waves with an article claiming that Arsenal London will target Thomas Tuchel to replace Arsene Wenger. Reportedly the Gunners even made an offer to Tuchel already. However it seems that it was just your usual international break nonsense after Arsenal already denied those rumors and now it seems that Wenger will extend his contract for another year and extend his reign in London for a 21st season.
Meanwhile Tuchel has still a contract for next season in Dortmund and depending on the results for the rest of the season it seems likely that Watzke & Co. will want to extend with him. At this point you could very well argue that Borussia Dortmund is the better address for any coach. The black and yellows have an extraordinary amount of young talent that is on the cusp of greatness and have long term contracts, while Arsenal are struggling to get Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez to sign extensions.
- What's going to happen with Mahmoud Dahoud?
Let's just say it was an interesting day when it come to Dahoud rumors.
First, the Fohlennews (an outlet that exclusively covers Gladbach) reported that Dahoud is close to signing an extension albeit with a 30€ million release clause in it. It would possibly keep him in Gladbach and would mean other teams would have to pay a hefty fee for the young midfielder.
Just hours later kicker chimed in and claimed that despite interest from several Premier League-clubs, the 21-year-old will probably move to Dortmund in the summer. In addition the black and yellows would only have to pay 12-14€ million because of a release clause in his current contract, quite the bargain.
Currently the entire Dahoud-situation seems like a big mess. Contradictory reports make it hard to guess where the talented midfielder will end up. Several reports from the usually reliable kicker and Ruhr Nachrichten over the past several months would indicate that there's a good chance you will see in a BVB-jersey next season but since there is no official confirmation just yet we will just have to wait and see.
Moreover the current situation complicates things. Dahoud would probably not want to rile up Gladbach-fans with an early announcement, especially when there is still a chance that he would have to play his future club in a DFB Cup final.
- Aubameyang to stay in Dortmund?
PEA put everybody on notice a couple months back when he said that he might need to move on to become a better player and reach higher goals. Naturally that meant he got linked to every club that could feasibly come up with Dortmund's asking price in case he was for sale. However those rumors have somewhat died down and now it appears that he might stay after all. The Süddeutsche Zeitung claim that he could stay in Dortmund for another year with the interest from Real Madrid, his preferred destination, being close to nonexistent.
Daily Buzz: Toprak is already confirmed, Dahoud seems likely and Auba might stay. Good news! If all of those things happen then do we need another player in the summer or are we already set?
