- Sportfreunde Lotte vs Borussia Dortmund - March 14th
It's official, Lotte-BVB will happen on March 14th. We will find out out if our beloved club will actually participate in the semifinals in two weeks. However it's still unclear if the game will be played in Lotte or at another location. The DFB has recommended to look for another stadium but Lotte still want to find another solution, they are planning to get another turf into their stadium.
It seems like a long shot that this will happen but you have to admire their will to actually play the biggest game of their clubs history in their own stadium.
- DFB Cup results and draw
If Dortmund advance they will have to face Bayern Munich....away....
Well ain't that fun.
Here are the results from yesterday:
Hamburg 1-2 Borussia Mönchengladbach
Bayern Munich 3-0 Schalke 04
After the 8-0 thrashing they received from Bayern last weekend, HSV were poised to redeem themselves and they actually played a decent game of football. They were unlucky to get two penalty kicks (although both were correct) called against them to give Gladbach a two goal lead. Young American Bobby Wood pulled one back in stoppage time but it was to late.
Bayern had no problem beating Gelsenkirchen at home. The Bavarians scored three goals in the first half hour and just played out the rest of the game. After struggling out of the gate in the first few games after the winter break it seems like Bayern have found their groove, especially Lewandowski.
Dortmund have struggled all season but in recent weeks they seem to play better and finally dominate opponents that they should dominate. One of the reasons could be that the team is finally healthy.
Bayern will be a challenge especially with their twelfth man backing them...by that I mean the referee.
Daily Buzz: Happy with the draw?
