First Half

Things were going really well for BVB at the start of the first half. We dominated the ball pretty much the whole first 25 minutes. Aubameyang missed two easy chances in a row which was disappointing but not all that new for BVB. Then came a super close Hertha chance that was luckily cleared by Ibisevic. Our luck didn’t last though as Kalou scored a goal only a few minutes later. The responsibility for the goal could be split between Piz and Bartra who have both been lacking in defensive capabilities this season. The rest of the half went on as it had before with BVB getting some chances. Aubameyang had a goal rightfully called offside and Hertha had gotten a couple of yellow cards. The half ended 1-0.

Second Half

Well the second half started off a lot better for BVB. Just two mins into the half Pulisic passed the ball to Reus who scored a easy goal. The rest of the half mostly went in BVB favor. Hertha picked up quite a few yellows but had no one sent off. BVB had 4-5 close chances on goal but nothing came of them. Maybe the biggest controversy is Auba having a goal called off unfairly after he kicked it out from the keepers grasp. The half ended uneventfully and went into extra time

Extra Time

No goals, not many shots and Sokratis got sent off for protest. Also Bartra made a great tackle. On to the pens.

Penalties

WE WON ‘EM. AUBA CASTRO AND DEMBELE HIT THEIR PENS TO SEND US THROUGH. HERTHA MISSES AND BURKI BEING A WALL ALSO CONTRIBUTED. ON TO THE NEXT ROUND BABY.
