Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made waves this past week when he once again spoke about a possible transfer from Borussia Dortmund. Auba gave an interview with RMC in which he said he was considering a move away from BVB this summer.
These comments are the latest in a long-line of transfer musings from Dortmund’s star striker. Aubameyang is not afraid to speak his mind about transfer speculation around him, and it seems like Thomas Tuchel has had enough.
ESPNFC has the quotes from Tuchel’s most recent press conference.
"Such statements don't really help, but it's also not something we attach too much importance to. But if you look at the interview in detail, you can see that he's asking himself a fundamental question: To end his career here, or dare to make another step."
“Whether you have to do it in public during a phase like the one we're currently in is open to debate. There are moments when it's a bit annoying."
Tell us how you really feel Tommy.
It was only a matter of time before Tuchel said something, as the most recent transfer speculation comes months before the summer transfer window even begins. Having a star player constantly talk about their future is frustrating for the manager and the fans.
Why can’t Aubameyang just bite his tongue a bit when asked about transfer speculation? In the interview he mentioned that he was still happy right now at Dortmund. Why can’t that be all he says?
I’m sure Thomas Tuchel is asking the same questions.
Whether Auba leaves this summer or not, let’s hope he takes the hint and focuses on what’s happening in the present.
