The Daily Bee (February 27th, 2017): A good weekend for Borussia Dortmund

  • A very good weekend

I think we can all agree that Borussia Dortmund had an outstanding weekend. Three points, a good performance, a clean sheet and most of our competition either lost or drew on matchday 22.

However it was not just Tuchel's men that were successful. The U19 team won the Revierderby against Schalke 2-0, both goals were scored by the Danish prodigy Jacob Bruun Larsen. In 16 games Bruun Larsen has now scored 19 goals and 13 assists. He'll probably join the first team next year but it will be difficult for him to get minutes in an already crowded midfield.

  • Valerien Ismael sacked in Wolfsburg

Our opponent from a week ago has sacked their coach. VfL Wolfsburg had to act after yet another disappointing loss, this time against Bremen. The Wölfe are now in 14th place in the table, just two points clear of the relegation zone. The days of Kevin de Bruyne suiting up for them and their DFB Cup winning team seems forever ago, yet it was in 2014/15 that they were so close to the top of German football. However some bad management and the crisis of VW, their main sponsor, have led to a quick demise of a once promising team.

Daily Buzz: We will probably have to many midfielders next season, especially with Bruun Larsen getting the call-up and Dahoud maybe....hopefully joining. So who is safe and who should we sell or loan-out?
