Bayern Munich had surprisingly a lot of trouble with RSC Anderlecht last night. Nevertheless they prevailed in their 2-1 victory in Belgium and qualified for the round of 16 but they paid a steep price, both Arjen Robben and Thiago left the game with injuries. Bayern-coach Heynckes described Thiago’s injury as a “severe muscle injury”, a precise diagnosis is still missing but he could miss several months. Robben on the other hand was a bit luckier, he had to be subbed off but he’s not expected to miss an extended period of time.

PSG once again showed a dominant performance with a 7-1 thrashing of Celtic Glasgow. As of right now they have to be considered one of the top favorites to win the competition.

Atletico Madrid kept their chances alive with a 2-0 victory over AS Roma but they will need help from Qarabag in the last game and win in London against Chelsea. A tall order for Atletico and it seems like they might join BVB in the Europa League (if BVB actually manage to stay in 3rd place).

Christian Pulisic has returned to practice after missing a few days with muscular problems. Dortmund will need the young American to regain his early season form if they want to win the Revierderby this Saturday.

Daily Buzz: The most important game of the season is on Saturday and Dortmund absolutely need a win. What would your ideal line-up look like against Schalke?
