- Mislintat joining Arsenal
Borussia Dortmund are on the brink of losing one of their most important employees in Sven Mislintat. According to SportBild, the 45-year-old “head of pro-football” at BVB is in the midst of joining Arsenal London as their sporting director. Dortmund are rumored to get 2€ million for him and Mislintat himself will earn 1.8€ million per year.
Mislintat was the head of scouting before being promoted at the start of the year. He is credited with unearthing several players like Robert Lewandowski, Ousmane Dembélé and Shinji Kagawa among others.
It’s interesting to note that one of the reasons for letting Thomas Tuchel go was his strained relationship with Mislintat. Tuchel was sacked at the end of last season while Mislintat got a promotion, a move that didn’t really pay of considering that he’s eager to leave just a few months later.
- Sokratis injured
The centerback picked up an injury during last Friday’s loss against Stuttgart, breaking a rib cartilage. He will likely miss Tuesday’s home game against Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League but he could be back next weekend for the Derby against Schalke 04.
Daily Buzz: Should Dortmund have offered Mislintat the sporting director-job? If yes, what do you do with Zorc?
