  • DFB Cup

Borussia Dortmund drew a difficult away game against Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the DFB Cup. It will certainly make the title defense a tricky undertaking, especially with the game being in Munich. Nevertheless if you want to win the Cup there is pretty high possibility that you’ll have to beat Bayern at some point so it doesn’t really matter in which round.

As for the other match-ups, Leverkusen vs Gladbach is another high profile game and most teams are probably pretty satisfied with the fact that BVB, Bayern and Leipzig are basically eliminating each other so early in the competition.

  • Werder Bremen sack Alexander Nouri

The northern Germans have parted ways with their head coach after an abysmal start with 0 wins in 10 games. Bremen are currently in 17th place with 5 points and the worst offense in the Bundesliga with 3 goals. Florian Kohlfeldt, the U23 coach, will take over on an interim basis until a new coach is appointed.

Daily Buzz: One of BVB or Bayern will be eliminated after the next round so which team do you think can advance to the final this year? We might even get a final without Bayern OR Dortmund since 2011!
