  • New contract for Reus?

Everybody was a bit surprised when Marco Reus talked a few weeks ago about the possibility of him leaving Dortmund one day. Contrary to other players Reus, who is born and raised in Dortmund, has always been loyal to BVB, even when he received better offers from other teams. In fact it was Reus who decided to come back to Dortmund after he got sent away in his youth for supposedly not being good enough to play for the black and yellows.

However now it seems that an extension of the contract, that ends in 2019, is possible. Talking to kicker, Michael Zorc confirmed that Marco Reus is in their long term plans, saying “We see him [being] with us long term”.

Currently Reus is rehabbing yet another injury and is scheduled to return at the start of 2018.

  • Toprak questionable

Ömer Toprak returned from Cyprus with a pulled muscle in his thigh. It is questionable if he can play on Saturday against Eintracht Frankfurt. With Sokratis being suspended because of his red card against RB Leipzig, it could lead to either Zagadou or even Subotic getting the start alongside Bartra at center back.
