The Daily Bee (October 19th, 2017): BVB eyeing de Ligt transfer?

  • BVB “satisfied” with Bürki

Roman Bürki has not been great this season. There is a legitimate argument to be made that the 26-year-old has actually regressed compared to last season. Although he is probably still the best option at goalkeeper that Dortmund have, rumors about Kevin Trapp and Timo Horn keep coming up.

Both Zorc and Bosz have encouraged him after his mistake against APOEL, full well knowing that they have to rely on him...for now. At least the assumption was that BVB will look for an improvement soon, however several outlets in Germany report that there are talks between both sides to extend his contract that ends in 2019. In addition Zorc recently said that they are “satisfied with Roman Bürki”.

  • BVB moving for de Ligt?

Matthijs de Ligt is one of the most sought after defensive players in Europe right now and it seems that Dortmund are making moves to assure that he’ll play in black and yellow soon.

SportBild claim BVB are interested to bring him in to strengthen the defense. The 18-year-old center back has a contract until 2021 but the outlet claims that he would be available for 20€ million. A possible advantage for Dortmund is that Peter Bosz is the coach that helped de Ligt make the jump into Ajax’s first team. His agent Barry Hulshoff spoke very highly of Bosz, saying “Matthijs owes a lot to Peter Bosz”, before adding “But for now Matthijs would like to stay with Ajax. He’s not gonna leave Amsterdam this winter.”

So it’s not gonna happen in January but this sounds promising for a move next summer.
