  • Schmelzer travelling to Cyprus

Borussia Dortmund is on their way to Cyprus to play against APOEL Nicosia in their third group stage match. The black and yellows are looking for their first win and maybe a returning Marcel Schmelzer could help with that. The captain surprisingly traveled with the team even though it was believed he wasn’t even close to returning to the pitch. Having him back at left back could certainly help with the struggles at the position in recent weeks.

Schmelzer: “Our first two opponents were very strong. We want to show that we can get three points.”

  • Seeded teams for the World Cup

The draw for the World Cup group stage comes closer by the day. Today FIFA released the new ranking, essentially telling us who the seeded teams are gonna be. Russia is obviously one of the teams in pot 1, Germany, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Belgium, Poland and France will join them.

Teams like Spain, England and Italy (should they qualify) will be in pot 2, meaning that we could possibly see some incredible matches already in the group stage.
