- A few facts about yesterday's game
Sadly we didn't get the result against Mainz that we wanted but there were a few positive takeaways from the game. Marcel Schmelzer played his 300th game for Borussia Dortmund, currently sitting in 13th place for most games for BVB. He'll definitely pass a few more players in the coming years but it might be difficult to come close to the first-placed player which is Michael Zorc with an incredible 572 games.
Marco Reus scored his 11th career goal against Mainz, by far the most of any opponent in the Bundesliga. Apparently Marco is not a fan of the 05er.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (AFCON) and Raphael Guerreiro (injury) both had their comebacks in the starting line-up. Both of them had some good moments during the game but they looked tired in the second half. They aren't at 100% yet but hopefully with another full week of practice they'll be ready for Leipzig next week.
- BVB-ultras use pyrotechnics again
Borussia Dortmund is still on probation after the pyro-incident during last years DFB Cup final against Bayern Munich. Now the ultras have done it again at the beginning of the second half against Mainz. It is probable that the DFL will punish the club in the coming days either with a fine or by limiting the attendance for a future home-game. It's regrettable that some "fans" still don't understand that they ultimately just hurt their club and themselves with those actions.
