2016 was not a good year for Borussia Dortmund injury-wise. And now 2017 hasn’t exactly gotten off to a good start.
The club announced today that Ousmane Dembélé suffered a tendon injury, and could miss the game against Werder Bremen on the 21st.
Diagnose bei @Dembouz: Sehnenzerrung im Hüftbeugemuskel. Einsatz gegen Bremen nicht ausgeschlossen.

Dembélé apparently picked up the injury while training during the winter break with Dortmund. He joins an injury list that has been quite lengthy at times during this season.
The Bundesliga winter break is supposed to be a time when teams and players can refresh and get healthy. The timing on this injury is poor, as it comes towards the end of the break.
Hopefully it is just a minor ailment. Dortmund need Dembélé if they are to be at their best following the resumption of meaningful games.
The French international has already bagged 4 goals and 7 assists in all competitions this season. His first year since signing from Rennes has been incredibly promising. Here’s hoping it’s not significantly derailed by this, or other injuries.
