It’s that time of year again folks! The new FIFA game is around the corner. That means it’s time for fans and players alike to see the ratings and direct their rage at EA for what are perceived to be unsatisfactory statistics.

Not every Dortmund players’ rating has been released, but today we got a video from EA featuring three of BVB’s main men discussing their ratings. Check out Mario Gotze, Sokratis, and Marcel Schmelzer predicting their ratings below.

The video is in German, but banter is easily translated across languages!

Gotze is hoping for an 86, and Schmelzer is hoping for an 81, but it’s Papa who steals the show. “I’ll get an 85,” says Sokratis. “Why? Because I’m Papa and I play for BVB!”

That’s all the reasoning we needed too Sok.

Here are the actual ratings for these three, that have just been revealed by EA.

I know he wanted an 85, but this isn’t a bad rating at all for Sokratis. It’s an upgrade from his 83 rating last game, and everyone likes a quick center-back in FIFA.

Gotze’s overall rating stays the same, but his stats have been downgraded a bit. I guess that’s understandable after he took the last three years off from football and didn’t play professionally at all for anyone.

Schmel actually got a bit of an upgrade from FIFA 16, but if it were up to us he’d be a 99. EA need to start incorporating hair and heart into their rankings! If they did, Schmelzer would be one of the best players in the game.

FIFA 17 comes out in North America on September 27th, and in the rest of the world on the 29th.
