After multiple reports earlier this week suggested that Moritz Leitner would be leaving Borussia Dortmund, it appears these rumors are about to come true. Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla of Calciomercato is reporting that Leitner will be signing with Italian club S.S. Lazio.

Moritz Leitner is under contract until next summer and it appeared Dortmund was looking to unload the midfielder from early on this summer. Arriving at Dortmund in 2011, Leitner has seldom seen extended minutes and has struggled to break through into the first team.

The final details for the deal have yet to be defined but Pedulla is saying that the announcement will be coming soon. According the details listed above, it looks as if the deal will be worth €2 million plus bonuses.

Lazio manager Simone Inzaghi desperately needed to add depth at midfield after losing Antonio Candreva to Inter Milan. Inzaghi has the option to use Leitner as a substitute for Marco Parolo or to give Leitner a major starting role with a top club in Serie A.

No official announcement has been made yet.
