Well, time to pack it up.

We’re screwed.

Yup. We’d better pack it up right now, because it’s not getting any better. Time to change in those yellow kits for Leverkusen kits, because it’s nothing but downhill from here. What’s the big tournament next summer? The confederations cup? Is that still a thing? Yup, anything better than this garbage.

With the way that Bayern completely dominated us for the full 90 minutes, what’s the point of even trying to compete for the title? Or the Champions League? Or the Pokal? How could we be expected to beat the likes of Mainz, 1860 München, or Arsenal if we can’t beat a club that hasn’t won the Champions League for THREE WHOLE YEARS???

After all, it’s not as if we purely dominated them for the first 55 minutes or so, and they scored a flukey goal that allowed them to sit back and counter.

It’s not as if we led Bayern in shots, shots on goal, chances, possession, passing, tackling, corner count, etc.

It’s not as if we were playing against without a doubt the best keeper in the world... I mean come on, any keeper in the world and their cat could have made those stops.

It’s not as if the two goals we gave up were flukey, against the run of play, or results of rustiness on the training ground.

It’s not as if we weren’t at full strength... other than a few random depth players like, um... what are their names? Marco Reus? Mario Götze? Lucasz Piszczek? Yup, other than those three, this was the best lineup possible. I mean, with Adrian Ramos starting, how could this not be our best?

...

Now, I know what some of you are saying. “Sean, you’re overreacting... this is still preseason... we dominated them for most of the game... our finishing was a little rusty, but in midseason our forwards would put those away... every now and again an opposing keeper can carry their team to victory... our squad looks primed to make a deep run domestically and in Europe.”

Yada, yada, yada.

Yes, this is preseason. However... it’s not as if any club that has ever lost the Supercup has won the league. Nope. That has never happened. Ever. Like, ever.

Most people in the media will be saying, “Don’t panic.” Let me tell you right now: PANIC. Go on your twitters, facebooks, and snapchats, and clamor for Tuchel’s head. If that man still has his job tomorrow, then you as a fanbase will have let me down.
