The summer transfer window looks to be just about done for Dortmund. With an exciting array of new faces joining the club, three big names left the fray: Ilkay Gundogan, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Mats Hummels.
Ilkay Gundogan had been a huge part of Dortmund's domestic double campaign and the 2013 trip to the UEFA Champions League finals. He was a talented, two-way central midfielder and was one of the best in the world during his prime. He will be playing for Manchester City this upcoming season.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan was a mainstay at right wing for Dortmund throughout his time with the club. He led the team in chances created last season with 82 and could both shoot and pass very well. The Armenian also displayed his clinical ability throughout his tenure in Germany. He will be playing for Manchester United this upcoming season.
Mats Hummels captained Dortmund last season and played a key role in Dortmund's stellar defensive play in the second half of the season. The Bundesliga Team of the Year member anchored the backline, but also provided scoring chance on offense. He will be playing for Bayern Munich this upcoming season.
