Hello, all!

Filling in for Nayab this week, it’s been an absolute whale of a transfer window so far, but things are really heating up now. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Transfers In

Switzerland v Poland - Round of 16: UEFA Euro 2016 Photo by Laurence Griffiths/Getty Images

Xherdan Shaqiri

Current club: Stoke City

Position: Right Wing

Rumored price: 15 million euros

Likelihood: Probably not. Stoke Sentinel reporting the rumor that Shaqiri will be Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s replacement, but the player himself denied any rumors of his departure from Stoke City.

Do we need him: To put it lightly, Dortmund need a winger. But if Gotze and/or Schurrle sign with the club the pursuit for Shaqiri will be over.

Gabriel

Current club: Santos FC

Position: Right Wing

Rumored price: 18 million euros

Likelihood: Calciomercato reporting that Juventus, Chelsea, and BVB are all in the hunt for #Gabigol. Dortmund look in prime position to sign the talented young Brazilian, but the competition is pretty brutal. We’ll see how this one plays out.

TRANSLATION: Not only #Juventus about #Gabigol, there's also the bianconeri #Chelsea, but favored by relationship with Doyen (% card). #BVB offers 18.

Do we need him: You mean another of the world’s most talented youngsters signing at BVB? Why of course. Not only will he be a star, but he will make Watzke and Zorc very, very rich in the future when Barcelona pays a billion euros (slight exaggeration) for him.

Transfer Updates

Mario Gotze

Some conflicting reports as recent as Friday morning flipping between "Gotze agreeing too terms with Dortmund" and "BVB executives denying negotiations with Gotze." The deal is looking more and more likely by each passing day and a reunion is very possible. With the number 10 shirt available, Gotze’s return is pretty necessary for Dortmund given its thin depth and lack of experience in midfield.

Andre Schurrle

Kicker reported earlier this week that not only is a Gotze deal close, but so is one for Schurrle. The only issue with Schurrle is the pricetag: upwards of 30 million euros! For further thoughts on the matter, read here.

Moussa Sissoko

The Newcastle midfielder is looking to escape the recently relegated club, and Dortmund is his desired destination. But Sissoko might be a little too pricey for Dortmund to afford, especially with deals for Gotze and Schurrle on the horizon.

Mateo Kovacic

Ah, Croatia. The land of House Music and our next two transfer targets. Kovacic had himself a pretty decent showing at the Euros but has failed to make an impression at Real Madrid. He’s apparently a top priority for Dortmund. However, buying from Real Madrid is like going out to dinner in Times Square, New York City: VERY, VERY EXPENSIVE!

Marko Pjaca

Looks like he’ll be headed for AC Milan. Oh well, unfortunately the transfer window isn’t like Pokemon GO! Can’t catch ‘em all, I guess.

Transfers Out

Neven Subotic

News on Friday stating Subotic is off to Middlesbrough for a fee of around 10 million euros given the center-back receives a work permit. You know what that means? Boro paid more for Subotic than BVB paid for Marc Bartra. Ha, classic!

Matthias Ginter

New rumors saying the defender could be heading to Hamburg. Wolfsburg, Arsenal, and Tottenham have also reportedly inquired about him. But Hamburg seems most interested. The price? A whopping 20 million euros...for Ginter! I don’t think Dortmund should sell him but ultimately its not my decision.

TRANSLATION: #HSV confirmed his courtship of Matthias Ginter (22/ Dortmund). Will be difficult. Even Wolfsburg, arsenal and Tottenham have knocked.

That’s all for this week folks. Until next Friday, the comments are yours!
