We have all played, and probably sworn off, FIFA at some point in our lives. Like it or hate it, it's one of the biggest video games in the world. It's only right that the cover of the 2017 edition of the game features one of the biggest players on one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Judging from a trailer that was released today, Marco Reus will be one of four players on the cover of FIFA 17. Reus is in prestigious company as he is joined on the cover by James Rodriguez, Eden Hazard, and Anthony Martial.
Reus didn't have the best season by his own standards, but that doesn't mean he is any less of a player than he was the year before. He's still one of the best attackers in Germany, and he would've been a feature at the Euros for the Germans had he not gotten injured.
He actually probably deserves his spot on the cover more than anyone else who features. James struggled to get in the team at Real Madrid, Hazard had a very lackluster season at Chelsea, and Martial is really just establishing himself as a prolific player. But they're four big names and four very marketable players, so no complaints.
Just a warning that Jose Mourinho narrates the trailer, but it does feature some shots of Marco. There's a split-second shot, presumably from the new game, of him gazing up into the crowd at the Westfalenstadion. It actually looks pretty cool, so we grabbed a screenshot from the trailer even if you don't want to give it a watch.
If the trailer does interest you, the full game is released on September 29th.
But just for the record if we were in charge we would've kept the cover to only two players. Nothing would be better than Aubameyang featuring on the cover with Reus as Batman and Robin.
