Borussia Dortmund's 2016/2017 Fixture List

It’s been about six weeks since the DFB Pokalfinale and we’re starting to get a little restless waiting for the start of Dortmund’s 2016/2017 season. Luckily the Bundesliga released its full fixture list for the upcoming season today. There are a number of interesting match-ups for the Schwarzgelbe in the first half of the season, notably Schalke 04 and FC Bayern München, both of whom we play at home. The season opener against Mainz 05 is also a good match-up because Dortmund has never lost a home against Mainz 05 (6 wins and 4 draws). Additional games against RB Leipzig and SV Darmstadt are also a blessing as the former is a newly promoted team to the Bundesliga and the latter finished 14th last season. Hopefully this will give the new crop of players brought in this summer plenty of time to click and mesh well as a team.
