It seems Neven Subotic might actually be leaving Borussia Dortmund. This news was expected, but still heart-rending.

In an article published this morning, Süddeutsche Zeitung quotes Neven's agent Frieder Gamm saying that Neven is unhappy with his minutes under Thomas Tuchel. Gamm says "Neven desperately wants to play and not earn his money on the bench."

The 27 year old defender has been in Borussia Dortmund since 2008 - eight beautiful years! He has played a staggering 259 matches for us, and is very much a fan favorite.

BVB management has confirmed that, despite Neven having a contract until 2018, they will be letting him transfer for a reasonable fee. Zorc says "We will treat Neven situation with the necessary and deserved respect."

Neven was part of Klopp's team that took the world by storm and won us the double in 2011/12. Four years later, that team has broken up, some people have left, some people are dealing with injuries, and there's hardly anyone left at Dortmund. Neven's desire to leave is another reminder that that era has ended.

Auf Wiedersehen, Neven! Good luck and best wishes for your future. We will miss you!
