With the Bundesliga season over, it's important to keep American wunderkind Christian Pulisic in shape. He's possibly got a big summer on hand at the Copa America with the United States, but why not score as many goals as possible with Dortmund before he heads stateside for the summer?
Pulisic has had his stint with the senior team, but it's clear that Dortmund viewed him, and fellow prime prospect Felix Passlack, as important to the efforts of the youth team as well as they have advanced so far in this competition. Christian validated that decision as he once again showed his poaching instinct around the goal.
The goal tied things up after Dortmund had lost the first leg 2-1. Passlack made moves on the right side before cutting the ball back perfectly into the box. Pulisic was already making a run into the box and tucked the ball simply into the side netting with just one touch.
Passlack wasn't done as he was the man who would eventually win it for BVB. The late drama came in the 89th minute with the score still level at 2-2 on aggregate. With extra time looming, Dortmund's 17-year-old German prodigy provided a fitting ending.
Munich's young keeper came out to try and play a ball that he could not reach. Dortmund's 18-year-old German forward Janni Serra jumped well and knocked the ball down for Passlack. Felix skillfully lofted the ball over the keeper and the defenders attempting to clear it off the line.
It was a beauty of a goal, but how about that knee-slide from Passlack? If anything get him up to the senior team just for his celebration skills.
Dortmund's U19s will now play the final at Hoffenheim on May 29th at 13:00 CET.
