Player Ratings: Dortmund vs. Hamburger SV

Overall very good

STARTING XI:

Roman Burki - 9: Relatively untested in the second half, but stood tall when he needed to do so.

Mats Hummels - 12: I know, I know, "on a scale from 1-10." But goal saving tackles like his deserve extra credit.

Sven Bender - 7: Didn't really do much, and nearly gave away a goal in the first half.

Matthias Ginter - 8: Solid defensively and provided numerous balls into the area on offense. Wish a couple would've lead to goals but still a valiant effort.

Felix Passlack - 9: Only his second appearance for the first team and he looked like an established veteran. Some of his touches were wild, but he certainly has a bright future in store.

Nuri Sahin - 8: Solid overall, didn't hear his name much but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Really good distribution. And he is still the youngest player to score in Bundesliga history.

Ilkay Gundogan - 8: Didn't play the full 90 minutes but he did perform well. A couple of nice passes and was good in the midfield.

Gonzalo Castro - 9: I liked what I saw from Castro today. He played aggressive on both sides of the ball and was really a force all over the field. Maybe his best game with Dortmund?

Shinji Kagawa - 9: Responsible for setting up a couple of goals. He is a true work horse for BVB.

Christian Pulisic - 1776...ok 10: Got a little carried away there but it was a great game from the young American. Scoring his first goal and playing with the utmost confidence. He was a pleasure to watch all day.

Adrian Ramos - 10: Scored his first brace in two seasons. His performance today was proof that he belongs at Dortmund. And honestly, he looked good alongside Aubameyang. It's a wonder why those two don't play together as much.

SUBS:

Moritz Leitner - 8: Came on and immediately provided superb distribution. He did excellent in midfield today.

Marcel Schmelzer - 8: Did what he had to do. Nothing spectacular but nothing special. Was good defensively.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - 9: Had a few chances on goal in just his 15 minutes of action. Really hoping he sticks around for a long, long time.
