Borussia Dortmund will travel to China this summer to play a series of friendlies against Manchester United and Manchester City as part of the 2016 International Champions Cup China.

On July 22nd BVB will face Manchester United in a match at the Shanghai Stadium. Thomas Tuchel and his players will then face the other club from Manchester, City, in a game on July 28th in Shenzhen. The Manchester City game will have a few added story lines as it will feature Pep Guardiola managing against a German team only a few weeks after his departure from Bayern Munich.

Last summer saw Dortmund go to Asia to play matches in Japan and Malaysia. China is the most populated country on the planet and represents an enormous possible fan base for teams to tap into. Although I'm sure many American fans were hoping for a pre-season tour of the United States.

This years UEFA Euro 2016 tournament will certainly affect the squad that travels to China. The Euros will take place in France from June 10th until July 10th. BVB players whose countries advance deep in the Euros will probably be given the chance to rest and recover instead of joining the squad on this trip to China.

Some Dortmund fans have reacted negatively to the news of this tour as they view it as a monetarily driven trip that could negatively affect the building up of fitness in the pre-season. How do you feel about BVB's trip to China this summer?
