With the transfer window closed for more than a month now, rumors continue to surface about Borussia Dortmund star players and potential targets.

RUMORS OF PLAYERS LEAVING DORTMUND

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Real Madrid

Recent rumors have linked the Gabon international with a move to Real Madrid. Aubameyang has previously described playing for Real Madrid to be "a dream"

Following Thursday's 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League Round of 16, Aubameyang responded to potential links between him and the Spanish club, labeling such rumors as erroneous and stating that he is committed to Borussia Dortmund.

Why it could happen?

Aubameyang has had a breakout season and is attracting the attention of the world's top clubs. Real Madrid could entertain Dortmund with a hefty bid the German club would be unable to turn down.W

Why it may not happen?

Aubameyang is happy at Dortmund and remains under contract until 2020. His departure until that time remains unlikely.

Likelihood (on a scale from 1-10: 2

Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City

One of the more widely discussed rumors, the German central midfielder has been linked as one of Pep Guardiola's first acquisitions as manager of Manchester City.

Gundogan's representatives recently met with Man City Sporting Director Txiki Begiristain in Amsterdam. Reports from Bild are also indicating that Dortmund is happy with the €30 million fee

When asked about the potential switch, BVB Manager Thomas Tuchel responded by saying:

I do not understand what the fuss is all about. We also start planning for next season nice and early. That's the way things work in football. I am not disappointed about what's happened. Am I convinced that he will stay put? I will only be convinced he will stay once he signs a new deal. Ilkay knows what Dortmund are all about. He knows that he can develop here and become one of the team's leaders. He knows what he has at Dortmund.

Why it could happen?

Gundogan is getting frustrated with his contract at Dortmund and is in search of a new challenge in order to get more caps with the German national team.

Why it may not happen?

Gundogan remains under contract with BVB until the end of next season and the Millionaires may turn down offers for the midfielder if they feel his contributions are necessary.

RUMORS OF PLAYER COMING TO DORTMUND

Pione Sisto from FC Midtjylland

When Manchester United lost to the Danish club a few weeks ago in the Europa League, it was Pione Sisto who scored the vital equalizer for Midtjylland. Now, the right winger has his sights set on the Premier League.

However, a number of other European clubs have expressed interest in Sisto, including Borussia Dortmund.

AFC Ajax, Valencia, and BVB are all trying to lure Sisto, despite his preference to the Premier League, according to The Daily Mail.

Why it could happen?

Sisto is a fast winger who could add depth to Dortmund's midfield. Following the departure of Jonas Hofmann, there is a void on the right wing and it could be Pione Sisto who fills it.

Why it may not happen?

With Jakub Blaszczykowski returning from loan next season, Sisto will be forced into a reserve roll if BVB decide to keep Kuba. The Danish winger is looking for a bigger role and also has his sights set on the Premier League.

Likelihood: 3

Timo Werner from VfB Stuttgart

Borussia Dortmund are lacking serious depth at the striker position, and are looking to add an up-and-coming starlet to the rotation in Timo Werner. The youngster has made 86 appearances in the Bundesliga and has scored 13 goals.

At 20-years-old, Werner is one of the Bundesliga's best young talents, and has impressed the likes of Thomas Tuchel and the rest of the Millionaires, according to Sporting Bild.

The leading candidate sign Werner this summer is Red Bull Leipzig, who are looking to secure promotion to the Bundesliga next season. RB Leipzig are reportedly preparing to make a €20 million bid for the youngster, sparking a potential bidding war with Dortmund.

Why it could happen?

Adrian Ramos has been linked with moves away from Dortmund and his departure would leave an even bigger hole in an already thin striker position. Werner has his best football yet to play and could fit nicely in Dortmund's system.

Why it may not happen?

Werner has been declared "unsalable" by the Stuttgart Sporting Director and The Kicker reports that rumors about a potential move are merely rumors.

Likelihood: 5

Alexander Milosevic from Hannover 96

Inching closer and closer to relegation, Hannover will likely unload a few big names in the offseason if the club cannot manage to stay afloat in the Bundesliga. One defender who is likely to leave following relegation is Alexander Milosevic.

The Sweden international has piqued the interest of clubs such as Lazio and Borussia Dortmund.

Why it could happen?

With the potential departure of both Mats Hummels and Neven Subotic, the centre back position is left with a huge void. Milosevic could provide depth and has proven he can play with some of the league's best.

Why it may not happen?

Milosevic would likely fall behind Bender, Ginter, and Sokratis in the pecking order and the compensation for Subotic could give Dortmund the extra money to finance a move for a world-class defender.
