Birthday boy Sebastian Rudy was given quite the gift by Roman Burki and Borussia Dortmund when the German international pounced on a mistake to score in the 25th minute.
Hoffenheim did well to break quickly up the field on a counter attack, and the ball eventually came to Kevin Volland on the left side. Volland took a shot which Burki was unable to hold onto or knock away from danger. The rebound off the Swiss keeper came right to Rudy who simply had to tap the ball into the gaping net.

The goal was a shock to Dortmund who were heavy favorites against Julian Nagelsmann's relegation-threatened side. It was Rudy's second goal of the season and his ninth for Hoffenheim. It also ended a streak of 417 minutes without conceding a league goal for Thomas Tuchel's men.
Down 1-0 on a mistake, but there are surely more goals in this game.
