A new striker?

  • Congrats to Torsten Frings

The former Dortmund player (2002-2004) has been appointed as the new head coach for SV Darmstadt 98. The Lilien are currently sitting in last place going into the winter break. It will be an uphill battle for Frings who was an assistent in Bremen the last couple years, to avoid relegation.

  • Keep a free schedule on Wednesday because this is happening
  • Rumors about a striker swap

Adrian Ramos is once again in the rumor mill for a potential move to Chinese club BJ Guoan. It is a realistic transfer because Ramos isn't a starter, it would be his last big contract and because China is overpaying for every single player it might be a good deal for Dortmund and Ramos. BVB might be able to demand a hefty sum that would help them buy a young, promising striker.

Speaking of which, this is probably why Dortmund has been linked with a lot of strikers recently. Fedor Smolov (Krasnodar) and Sardar Azmoun (Rostov) have been rumored as possible targets for weeks now. Rui Pedro, an 18-year old talent from FC Porto is now joining those ranks with Dortmund reportedly interested in acquiring the young Portuguese player.

Zorc would do well to target another striker because Aubameyang will miss a few games at the start of the Rückrunde because he'll lead Gabon in the Africa Cup of Nations who is the host country for the tournament.
